A French Bag and a Tag

Thank you very much for your sympathetic comments on the loss of our Cecil. It’s always hard to lose a furry family member but I wouldn’t want to miss the wonderful time we had together.
My dear friend Marie has received my birthday package and now I can show you what I made for her.

Vintage Inspired Purse with French Labels
I have been in a bag sewing mood lately and thought I would make one for Marie too. Since I know that she enjoys French graphics, I used some on the front along with some lace and buttons.

Vintage Inspired Purse with French Labels
Vintage Inspired Purse - Lace Back
The back is a lace collage and could actually as well be used as the purse front.

White Fabric Tag with French Ad

For the tag I chose a French theme as well.

French Tag Detail

All the the pretty graphics I have used for the bag and the tag were provided by The Graphics Fairy.

Thank you for stopping by! Have a sunny and relaxed weekend!

My French creations will join these great parties:
Saturday Sparks at Pieced Pastimes
Sundays at Home at Thoughts from Alice
Show and Share at Coastal Charm
Treasure Hunt Thursday at From My Front Porch To Yours

I adore bags and to have a bag tailormade is surely as special a gift as possible. I love your use of graphics and how you put such thought into the back of the bag, essentially making it double sided for whichever mood Marie might be in that day.
The matching tag is equally beautiful.

That is so pretty, Julia! I am sure she will think of you every time she uses it. I love the graphics you sewed on the front; just perfect, as is the lace on the back. Love the tag, too. Such a lovely gift from a lovely friend! : )

Liebstige Julia,
Lass dich herzlich drücken

You have inspired me to get started on a bag project that has been in the works (trans: I have the materials and pattern but I have yet to even start it!!!). Perfect timing as I have a wonderful 105th birthday party to attend for my dear friend, Grace, and a little purse will be a perfect gift!
