As promised, I’m back with more Easter decorations today. Some weeks ago I had pinned a tutorial on how to make cement eggs. I didn’t have that special kind of cement she had used, but the regular kind worked as good. I mixed 1 part cement with 2 parts sand and followed the instructions. The drying time of my eggs was longer though. I could peel off the egg shells after 2 days. The tutorial suggested to partially spray paint the eggs, but I stamped my finished eggs instead.

The eggs are “served” in a vintage rusty cupcake baking pan.

The cement eggs are certainly farm fresh.

For the cement lamb I used a vintage chocolate mold that I had coated slightly with salad oil as a release agent. I’m glad that it had turned out so well.

My cast iron bunny watches a nest filled with three of my decoupaged plastic eggs from last year. He seems to do a good job. Another nest which had no guard, was raided by one of my sweet furry babies. The lightweight eggs obviously make popular cat toys.

After some weeks of sunshine and springlike temperatures, it got cold again and it snowed in the mountains. The weather forecast for the upcoming days is not very promising and so we’ll probably stay at home. I don’t know yet what we will cook. What’s on your menu for the weekend?
Happy Easter, dear friends!
Enjoy the holiday!
My cement eggs will be served at these wonderful parties:
