Witch Maybel and her Apothecary Cabinet

Every witch needs an apothecary cabinet. So, when my witch Maybel asked me to make one for her, I couldn’t refuse. Who knows what kind of spell she would have put on me, if I hadn’t fulfilled her wish.

If you ever wanted to try one of those yummy spiders or bats on a stick, now is the time. They’re on sale in Maybel’s apothecary. If you’d rather go for the “Try & Die”, aren’t you just excited that instant satisfaction is guaranteed? Maybel wants her customers to be happy customers for sure, lol.

The “Arsenic Poison” and the “Catarrh surely cured” labels were provided by  The Graphics Fairy. The same applies to the images of the bat and rat in my own label creations above and to the frame and skull in my “Try & Die” label.

Now you probably would like to meet the witch.

Witch Hat

The quilter in me came through and I sewed a patchwork hat for Maybel. It’s embellished with a tulle bow, a black feather and a vintage rhinestone button.

Witches' Broom

Her broom certainly had to match her outfit. Now she can go for a ride in style.

Maybel and I wish you lots of fun on Thursday.

I’ll be joining these great parties:

Julia, how creative!! What a great collection of poisons and such lol! I love the idea of dressing your form as a witch, I would love to do that! I have plenty of forms, but never thought of dressing them in anything except fancy dresses. I think it is to late for Halloween, but maybe Christmas?

Ach Julia, du bist ein Hit! :o))))

I mean witch of course! ;-) I agree with Dorthe and also want to see a picture of you in that outfit! :D

GLG Carola

What a wonderful array of Halloween inspired creations. I love Mabel, her dress is gorgeous. The rats tails are a step too far for me, I am very scared of rats!!! It sent a shiver down my spine! Happy Halloween. Mr T has a giant pumpkin to decorate for Thomas, he has a black all in one with a white skeleton on it for Halloween night! Jayne x

Dear Julia
This All Hallows' Eve I had to pay a visit to you and Maybel for some spooky going ons!
How can such a sweet person such as yourself create such devilish treats?!!!
The attention to detail is remarkable, all those amazing labels look so authentically vintage and all those goulish delights tucked in each nook and cranny.
Then the fabulous hat - WOW. I definitely see this in print in Stampington & co, can you not see that yourself, surely one of their publications would fall head over heels to publish this.
It has been such fun visiting you today and all your previous Halloween art posts - your imagination is remarkable.
P.S. Julia, thank you for being such supportive of my little makes.

Oh Julia, you have had so much fun creating Maybel's Apothecary cabinet!
Everything a bad witch desires to create her spells!!!

Maybel is a most elegant beautifully dressed witch - I imagine she is considered the "dowager witch" among her contemporaries!

This is such a creative and endearing "halloween" post dear Julia - I love it.

Hi Sweet Julia
I can see all the amazing fun you have been having in my absence in creating Maybel - her dress and patch worked hat - oh and broom are just amazing!
The best dressed witch I've ever seen!

Love love your Apothecary with all number of bottles, jars and tins full of lethal potions and other questionable contents. Your collection, imagination and talents came together so very well. In fact this is the best Halloween display I've seen I think.

Thank you dear Julia for all your lovely support recently.

Love and big hugs,
