A Couch Caddy

My dear friend LIZ has started an 11 months “SewingRoom SewAlong” to motivate her quilt group and blogging friends to make all the sewing related items, we have on our want-to-do-lists but hardly ever get around to do. For each month there is a different theme.
I probably won’t manage to do all eleven items, but I sewed along in January and made the couch caddy.

For the pincushion I used one of my favorite sewing graphics from
THE GRAPHICS FAIRY. Thank you, Karen!

If you like to sew along with Liz as well, please click HERE or on the button on my right sidebar.
Since I haven’t gotten around to post earlier this month, I’m really late with showing you a lovely gift that had arrived just after my last post. My dear friend Carole over at MAYNARD GREENHOUSE had surprised me with these gorgeous and so beautifully wrapped glass glitter ornaments from her shop. She had given them a personal touch by adding Christmas sentiments and watch parts. I LOVE them very much. Thank you, Carole!

Have a great weekend! I’ll be back next week with some more creations.

Your couch caddy is lovely and so useful! I may have to try something like this.
I love the idea of a monthly sew-a-long. Something like that would keep me disciplined.

Love your gifts of bling too. :)

I just started following you. Love your couch caddy! I am disabled and it has been extremely difficult to get at or organize projects. So I decided this year to arrange my house and studio so I can reach everything and to have things organized o I don't have to get up constantly and try to find something I need. You caddy is a wonderful project, thank you.

Oh wie hübsch! Alles was Du machst wird einfach wunderschön liebe Julia!

Oh Julia you are too sweet to show the gift I sent you. I was entranced by that wonderful couch caddy that when I came to it I was surprise to even see my name.
I love that caddy. I can see it being so handy while sitting watch tv. George is always scolding me for leaving needles all over the house. Sad but true I am guilty.

Off to check out Liz's site.

Dearest Julia,
Your couch caddy is one of the most beautiful that I have ever seen and I love how you have filled it with all those vintage pieces of lace etc.
That is a pretty spectacular pincushion too.
I have to say I made one a number of years ago but you have inspired me to make another one.
Have a wonderful day sweetie and I will email you soon!

Guten Morgen liebe Julia,

That creation is the best thing I have seen in years, it is so sensational in creativity and beauty. I adore it. I never ever thought of that use of old lace, where I was wondering just the other day what to do with a doily I had laying out of a drawer. Wow
I would not try to copy this as i dont even have a couch-lol or chair. But the combo of materials is just out of this world! thank you for sharing this.
