Whites, Creams and a Bit of Color Too

I’ve spent quite some time on my sewing machine lately, mostly sewing white pillows in different shapes and sizes.  A lot of them I just embellished with doilies from my collection. Then the quilter in me came through and I made this patchwork pillow from old tablecloths, bed linens and laces.

The minute I had seen the cute moose graphic at The Graphics Fairy a while ago, I knew I would use it for a pillow slip. I printed the moose on fabric and put white lace around.

This French image had been provided by Karen too and for this pillow, I had used the tee tree oil transfer method, my dear friend Viola over at Shabby Chic Inspired had talked about HERE.

The flea market season is almost over in our area, sigh. One more flea market is coming up in two weeks and then there will be a break until March. These are some finds of the last couple of weeks.

Vintage Finds

I mostly prefer coffee over tea but like the shape of tea pots very much and fell in love with this one.

It’s so overdue that I show you some gifts I had received. My sweet friend Dorthe over at Den Lille Lade had spoilt me with a beautiful pumpkin for my fall decoration as well well as with a gorgeous collage and a lovely card.

In addition she had shared a recent flea market find and sent me some wonderful watch parts for me to create with.

Vintage Watch Parts
Dear Lisa from Tarnished and Tattered got me into the Christmas mood by sending me this fabulous tin. I love it and have it hanging in the living room since it arrived some weeks ago.

Lisa also sent me lots of lovely laces, pretty monogram stencils

and this beautiful tag with a little plaster charlotte doll.

As if this hadn’t been enough, a fantastic wall hanging was also included in the package.  For this gorgeous collage, Lisa has combined pretty fabrics with the most delicate lace, vintage velvet ribbon, fringe, a lovely metal piece and a pretty turquoise colored bling brooch. The beautiful image is covered with waxed paper.

Last but not least, I found this lovely card from dear Lynne over at Adorn in our mailbox some days ago. That was such a wonderful surprise and I’m happy to be an owner of one of her beautiful creations now.

Thank you very much, my dear friends! You all had made my days.

Have a great weekend everyone! Do you have any plans? I will play in the studio to get some things finished and probably will go for a walk to pick up some fir cones for my Christmas decoration.

Ha, der Elch ist einfach umwerfend, liebste Julia! Was für ein Näschen *ggg*!!! Très chic aussi deine 'übsche franzöhösische Gissen - aber dein "the quilter in me came through"-Kissen ist ja wohl der Überhammer!

Julia your quilt pillow is absolutely beautiful!!! What a beautiful design you have put together on it. And I do love that moose. Thank you for the link on the transfering onto fabric. I need to learn to do this.
You have such talented friends Julia and they send you such beautiful things. I had to look through your lovely post twice for fear I had missed something wonderful.
Your flea market finds are great and it is always sad to say goodbye to the markets isn't it? It always makes me so anxious for Spring to arrive and for them to start up again.
My plans for the weekend are much like yours. I will be in the studio making things for a holiday bazaar going on near here. I usually don't make things to sell anymore, but my daughter is kind of in charge of the event and so for her I will make a few things to sell. I know I will sure love making them.
sending hugs from here...

Ahhhh Julia, well I see it was about time that I came over to look at your blog, now I do understand what you talked about in your mail about the pillow you made from old Damast. How wonderful that you can create something beautiful like that, I absolutely love it!!! The other pillows turned out beautiful too, but the quilted one is so special!
Oh and I saw a picture of that pretty altered tin from Lisa before and loved it, lucky you to get it :)
Love your flea finds too of course, especially the white teapot is gorgeous!

Yippee! It's good to see you back!
I am not going to be the pot calling the kettle black tho, I know how hectic life can be & blogging unfortunately falls to bottom of my list.
After seeing your pillows I know where you've been, sewing. My dream is to quilt. I am in LOVE with that quilted pillow. I would be mortified to cut up beautiful linens & have it not turn out, but yours is perfect. And the moose...OMG. I need to look at the link but I'm afraid it's going to be citris-sol & I cannot conquer that technique. I just copy onto fabric.
You got some good friends, your gifts are beautiful. Lisa (ps, can you come photograph all my art?)

I like your universe of sweetnesses, between creation and antiques the magic is magnificently present, thank you for these candies for eyes!
In my region of France it has been already two months since the flea markets are finished, they are replaced by those of Christmas but I have to admit that to wait 6 months to find the objects of past is very difficult;-)!
The received presents are some more beautiful than the others, many talents are gathered to please you and I am happy there!

Beautiful day
