Birthday Gifts For My Friend Liz

Last week was my dear friend’s Liz birthday. I think I can tell you that she became 50, because she had revealed that on her blog MOMENTS.  Liz loves to sew and so I didn’t have to think long about what kind of image to put in a fabric collage for her.

Liz enjoys her garden and that gave me the idea to use some rose images to create a paperweight, a soldered charm

and a little pillow.

Liz is having a wonderful birthday giveaway until July 9th.

If you would like to celebrate with her and win a beautiful sewing kit in a lovely box, please hop over to her blog MOMENTS and leave her a comment.

I’ll be back soon because I would like to show you as well the gifts for two other dear friends who had a birthday last week.

I Received a Lovely Gift and Drew Some Price Tag Winners

Some days ago, I had the pleasure to find an envelope from Finland in our mailbox. Minna over at LUMIVALKOISTA had sent me the most wonderful buttons, some lovely laces, a beautifully embroidered handkerchief, pretty monograms and some other sweet bits and pieces. Don’t the goodies look yummy? The handmade buttons are simply amazing.

Thank you very much, dear Minna! It was very generous of you to spoil me with some of your fantastic flea market finds.

I know from your lovely comments that a lot of you liked the vintage price tags of my last post. Therefore I decided to do a little drawing and threw your names into the cup.

The following three winners will receive 10 tags each:

Vintage Finds and a Wonderful Surprise

Thank you very much for your lovely comments and for helping me choose my new header. There were some votes for the new version of my old shelf banner but the majority liked the collage one better and so here it is :-).

Have you ever been happy about price tags? Well, call me crazy but I jumped for joy when I found a bag full of these at the flea market. It was the first time ever I saw such vintage ones here in Germany. I’m looking forward to using them in collages and for decoration.

These kid’s size shoemaker’s lasts were another wonderful find.

I couldn’t resist some old clothespins and as usual I brought home a couple of laces and doilies. Don’t you love that vintage tobacco package? It had never been opened. The lady who sold it to me, told me that she had worked in the US for a while and had found it in the attic of an old house in Tennessee. NO, I won’t start smoking now, lol.

I have a thing for white sauce boats and this is my third one. Does that mean I have a collection now? I like to use them to store supplies like those  faux pearl necklaces because it’s practical and makes a lovely decoration at the same time.

Some rusty loveliness in form of scissors and fittings. I also found these cute photos, a pretty brooch and a cognac colored die.

When I opened our mailbox on Saturday, I was very excited to discover a package coming from the UK.  Angela of The English Romantic had sent me the most gorgeous pin keep. Her work is fabulous and I just love the soft colors and her wonderful choices of fabric, laces and embellishments.

Angela had also spoiled me with this lovely flower brooch and some wonderful laces.

I adore all of Angela’s beautiful creations and I’m sure you will too, when you hop over to her great blog.

Thank you so much, dear Angela! You made me very happy.

Within the next week it will be time to send out birthday packages to some very dear friends. When they have reached their destinations and had been unpacked, I’ll be able to show you what I’ve been creating lately.

Have a lovely week everyone!
