Some Creations and My Blog Makeover

Do you remember the sugar bowl from my last post? It already became a pincushion.

Other things I have created last week are an altered box

a little card

and this tag.

I thought it was time for a little blog makeover. So I made a few changes, like a new background color and played around to create a new header. Actually I redecorated my studio shelf a little bit and removed the pink elements. I took a new picture and edited it (changed to sepia, then cut out and pasted some elements from the original picture to get some highlights). Here it is, so you don’t have to scroll back :-).

Another header version I made is this one. Even though I have uploaded the above version for now, I’m not really sure which one I like better. It would be great if you would let me know your opinion. Which one do you prefer? The shelf or the collage? Thank you for your help, dear friends!

Have a wonderful week!

Hallo liebe Julia,

I like both headers, but I'm leaning just the tiniest bit more towards the collage one. Lots of visual interest, although the eye does want to check out all those wonderful things on that shelf, LOL. Hugs!

Hallo liebste Julia,
You have made so many beautiful things dear friend- I so love them all- the box and card and tag, are all so romantic, and full of gorgeus elements, and layers. The two girls on the box, are wonderful, and the little pink added is so beautiful, Julia.
And your sugar bowl are the sweetest , such a pretty fabric piece you used.
I love your make-up, and actually find them both beautiful-but number two I think looks more artistic and also shows more of your fantastic art pieces, dear-so I will "vote" for that one :)
Wünsche dir guten abend und schlaff wohl, meine liebe.
Viele kys og knus , von Dorthe

I love the header....I m curious how everyone is making the collage headers though.....and how to get them to stay center on the blog.

Love all of your new creations! The colors you chose for your pincushion compliment the bowl beautifully.
I like the first header best because it is uncluttered and reflects your individual personalty.

Hello sweet Julia
What a transformation with the dear little sugar bowl. The pin cushion is so sweet and so too is the tin, the card and the tag. The images are just so beautiful.
The makeover is gorgeous - you have been very busy with all of this. I tend to feel a little like Dorthe with the header as both are beautiful but the collage represents your so beautiful creations and it, to me, is more heartfelt.
Have a wonderful week my sweet friend.
Happiness and hugs to you,

What an adorable pin cushion! Your card and tag look fabulous too. Your new header looks wonderful, but then again, so does your collage one!! Switch them out every so often to get the best of both! Have a great day.

Nice job on the pin cushion. I did one with my Grandmothers & Love it!

I prefer the collage for the header. GOOD JOB!

Well, sweetie, I really like both headers, but if you want me to choose *wink* I REALLY like the collage one :)

Well Julia, I am no help at all because I love both of your new banners. I also love that sweet little altered box. So pretty!!! Your 'topless' little sugar bowl got a beautiful makeover. I love how you get in and get things done. I just love it when you post dear friend. I always know I am going to see something wonderful!
hugs from here...

You're making it hard to decide that are both wonderful. I think I'm leaning towards the first because its similar to the first one....and the shelves make me think of you more. Does that make sense?
You always create the prettiest things Julia I don't know where you find the time. I can barely find time to blog:) sigh!

I just love, love, love everything I see on your blog! yummm.

Hi there.
Congratulations on your blog make over! It is always refreshing with a make over.
I don't know what I like better of your blog header. Perhaps the collage... It is quite difficult to chose, but the collage fits with having a new style on your blog... :-)
The creations you have made are so beautiful! I really like them. So many lovely details.

Dear Julia,

I love all your beautiful creations and you have been really busy.
The sweet pincushion, the collage and tags are gorgeous.
You do make it hard to choose between the headers, as they are both fabulous. I would change them around, week about maybe.

Hope that you are enjoying your week

Hi Julia, enjoyed visiting your blog and viewing all your beautiful creations. Blogger wont display your followers so I can follow you, will try tomorrow. Happy week-end, Robyn.

I know that a lot of your readers prefer the collage header but I see too many of them in the blogging world. The shelf is unique!

Good morning Miss Julia!
Hmmmm...I like them both! But I think I like the collage best. I love those hangers. You just do the neatest projects. I wish I had time to jump into my craftroom, but...seems like I haven't stepped foot in there in weeks. I am getting the house ready for paint - they start on Tues. Sigh. A LOT OF WORK! And I'm not even painting! But I think it is going to look lovely when everything is done.
I wish I was more computer savy. I guess I have no patience. I want someone to just sit me down and teach me, not to sit there and try to figure it all out. LOL!
Have a wonderful weekend! Summer is almost here!
Hugs! Karen

I really like collage #2 and it would be a change for you. Also what you did with those coat hangers is great. I have some and must get busy and do something with them. We used to pad them and do heirloom sewing and smocking on them. They are hard to find. I gave away so many to friends.

Love the "new 'do" - the background colour you chose is just lovely and the banner is beautiful too. If I had to choose I think I would choose the collage because it showcases your work so perfectly. Speaking of which, the creations you have shown here are just gorgeous, especially the bird tag - very, very nice Julia!
